13th CEPOL National Units’ network meeting kicks off today in Budapest

The 13th CEPOL National Units’ meeting kicked-off this morning at the EU Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) headquarters in Budapest. Chaired by the Head of the Swedish CEPOL National Unit (CNU), Mr. Ulf Sydorf, the two-day meeting on 29 and 30 March will provide a forum for productive discussions about the latest developments concerning the agency.
During today’s sessions, CNUs will be informed about the work of the two CEPOL Knowledge Centres, the new Expert Group on Higher Education, and the EU Strategic Training Needs Assessment (EU-STNA) and Operational Training Needs Analyses (OTNAs), including Training Needs Analyses (TNAs) on regional level. Other topics on the agenda are the CEPOL Exchange Programme 2023 and the work of the CEPOL Liaison Office in Brussels. Participants will learn about the latest innovative training resources available in the agency’s law enforcement education platform (LEEd), the eLessons on illicit drug laboratories, which offer a virtual tour of such facilities, also by using VR goggles. On the sidelines of the meeting, a workshop will explore how to better promote the agency’s core activities at national level.
On Thursday, 30 March the meeting will continue with a presentation of the work of the CEPOL Cybercrime Academy, which offers a state-of-the-art platform to improve cybercrime knowledge and cyber capacities in Europe. Also on the agenda is an update on the agency’s international cooperation projects, as well as the latest developments in the field of external relations and the conclusion of the CEPOL Justice and Home Affairs’ Agencies Network presidency 2022, including the presentation of the final report summarising last year’s achievements of the network.
