ActivityWebinar 3094/2022: Let’s speak asylum - Basic principles for information provision
The aim of the webinar is to familiarise first contact officials and law enforcement bodies with the basic principles of the information provision to asylum seekers, including the methodology on how to ensure efficient information provision taking into account different communication techniques and communication channels.
By the end of this webinar, the audience will be able to:
- Identify legal provisions relating to Member States’ duty to inform and applicants’ rights to be informed;
- Identify target audience’s needs, taking into account intercultural diversity and information sharing models;
- Adapt and disseminate accessible messages through appropriate and available channels.

Target audience
First contact officials (border guard, immigration, national police, etc.) and law enforcement bodies who might be in contact with potential asylum seekers or persons willing to make an application for international protection, as well as authorities in charge of the lodging of asylum applications, including identification and fingerprinting. The target group includes officials performing these duties in the framework of a national asylum system, or in an operational setting, such as border areas, disembarkations, transit zones, hotspots.
