Webinar 3086/2022: The use of an alert system for abducted or missing children

The aim of the webinar is optimising the chances of survival for abducted or missing children in life-threatening and/or dangerous situations. Research on the topic of Missing Children Homicide Investigation showed that in certain cases of abduction of children by adult males unknown to them, this offender will kill the child within a short time after the abduction took place. In such a scenario no time should be lost and the use of an alert system, involving the general public in the search for the child, could save his/her life.
Some countries also use their alert system to locate otherwise missing children whose life could be in danger due to the circumstances surrounding their disappearance. This presentation will discuss the customised way in which an alert system can be set up and used, the way modern media can be incorporated and the legal requirements.
