E034/2023/EXB CEPOL Exchange-bite on Migrant Smuggling

The aim of this training is to present and define the methods that Border Police Department units and sections are using in order to prevent and stop illegal attempts to cross the state border, specifically in Greece and Serbia. The presentation of the Financial Police Division will focus on the connection of migrant smuggling and "money laundering", an on detecting followed crimes.

With this exchange-bite, the audience will be able to:

• Recognise the activities and risks connected to these type of crimes;
• Extend their general knowledge on investigating migrant smuggling and implement it in their new investigations;
• Identify methods used by irregular migrants attempting to cross borders;
• Integrate the presented material in their areas of expertise.
