E022/2025/EXB Customs cooperation, control methods and handling of sniffer dogs

The aim of this exchange-bite is to share experiences on similarities and differences between the customs services in different countries: Poland, Greece, France, Germany and Sweden. It will also focus on training, handling and deployment of sniffer dogs in operational situations in Germany and France.
By the end of this Exchange-bite, the audience will be able to:
- Gain knowledge about the structure of customs service in Poland, Greece, France, Sweden and Germany;
- Understand the main tasks of customs service in different countries;
- Compare differences and similarities between them, identifying everyday problems of the customs service and ways to solve them;
- Understand the professional training organisations for customs dog handlers in France and Germany;
- Compare the differences in technical training between France and Germany:
- Understand the advantages of passive marking with indication;
- Improve knowledge on the different ways of using a search dog in operational work by using the know-how of both countries;
- Be able to compare the legislation in the respective countries of the exchange regarding customs work;
- Learn about best practices in the respective countries of the exchange in the field of customs checks;
- Promote the use of best practices from customs administrations.
