E015/2023/EXB CEPOL Exchange-bite on Cyber-Related Crime

The aim of this training is to inform law enforcement officials about the learnings of the CEPOL Exchange Programme 2023 related to the online fraud investigation systems in Portugal and Türkiye, and the challenges faced in investigation of online child sexual exploitation by exchangees from France and Ireland.
With this Exchange-bite, the audience will be able to:
- Get to know the criminal prevention and community policing as a service provided to citizens by the Republican National Guard in Portugal;
- Gain knowledge about the means of obtaining data from digital devices and the vehicles used in the Cybercrime Unit and Family and Child Protection Division in Turkish Gendarmerie (Jandarma);
- Understand the evolution of cybercrime and other crimes facilitated by digital devices, especially among vulnerable people (children, young people and elderly people);
- Learn about the Exchange experience with the Cybercrime Department in the Turkish Gendarmerie;
- Have an understanding of the structure of the French and Irish units involved in the investigation of online Child Sexual Exploitation and challenges faced in this area;
- Interpret the benefits of having a dedicated platform for reporting harmful content online;
- Get insight into how Ireland handles sex offender cases;
- Understand how the victims of sex offenders are supported by law enforcement in Ireland.
