The aim of the course is:
- To develop advanced capabilities for an effective protection of critical infrastructures, especially airports, thus mitigating terrorist threats and attacks.
- To identify the procedures/steps of target analysis.
- To identify options for taking preventive measures of a technical and organisational nature, with special attention for the benefit of first responders.
- To improve first responders’ professional skills on safeguarding targets.
- To deepen the knowledge about the European legal framework and to compare different national legal and practical standards about planning and securing critical infrastructures.
- To cooperate effectively with the private sector and the civil society (for instance in communities in the neighbourhood of critical infrastructure facilities).
- To improve the cooperation of law enforcement actors with airport authorities and airport operators as well as other actors who are involved in an airport setting.
- To establish a professional network with other colleagues.
