3089/2023/WEB 'Good practices for law enforcement training on protection of rights of Roma and Travellers'

The aim of this webinar is to share good practices at European and national level with law enforcement officials protecting the rights of Roma and Travellers and to strengthen cooperation and improve response in addressing racially motivated crimes and discrimination against Roma, Sinti and Traveller communities.

By the end of this webinar, the audience will be able to:

• Describe European and national level standards for addressing hate crime effectively;
• Describe human rights compliant practices in addressing racially motivated crimes;
• Explain the advantages and challenges of this approach;
• Discuss how such an approach could be enhanced in their police force;
• Discuss potential for cooperation, synergies, and joint activities for providing enhanced training for police officers, as well as opportunities and challenges in institutionalising one-off training initiatives on relevant Roma-related topics.
