3022/2023/WEB on 'Threat assessment on the misuse of non-profit organizations (NPOs) for terrorist financing purposes'

The aim of this webinar is to increase law enforcement capabilities for effective prevention against the abuse/misuse of the non-profit sector (NPOs) for terrorist/extremism financing purposes, by identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities.

By the end of this webinar, the audience will be able to:

• Highlight the relevant international framework and work done by OSCE on the topic;
• Define the challenges, risks and vulnerabilities posed by NPOs that can be explored by terrorists/violent extremists and the importance of a risk-based, proportionate approach in addressing these;
• Recognise the effectiveness of a coordinated multidimensional, consultative, preventive and Human-rights compliant approach, as well as information exchange to prevent the misuse of the non-profit sector for terrorist financing purposes;
• Describe lessons learned and best practices (recommendations) from case studies on the topic.
