3019/2026/WEB 'Waste crime investigations'

The aim of this webinar is to strengthen the capacity of law enforcement, inspection, customs, tax and judicial authorities to investigate complex waste crime cases, with a particular focus on large-scale environmental offences linked to financial crime, corruption and organised criminal activity. Through operational case examples from Italy and France, the webinar will demonstrate how coordinated, multi-agency approaches can support the detection, investigation and prosecution of serious waste-related offences.
By the end of this webinar, the audience will be able to:
- Recognise practical investigative approaches used in large-scale and coordinated waste crime investigations;
- Understand how complex waste crime cases can be linked to other serious offences, including tax evasion, money laundering, corruption and trafficking;
- Identify the benefits of multi-agency cooperation in the investigation of environmental crime;
- Analyse how financial and intelligence-led enquiries can support environmental crime investigations.
