Interoperability of EU large-scale IT systems course in Malta

Law enforcement officials from different European countries participated in a CEPOL onsite training activity on the interoperability of EU large-scale IT systems. Course 49/2024/ONS from the portfolio of the CEPOL Knowledge Centre on law enforcement cooperation, Information exchange, and interoperability (CKC INT) focused on current and future implementation. It was prepared in close cooperation with the European Commission, eu-LISA and Frontex, and hosted by the Maltese Police on 11-15 November 2024.
The course was addressed to practitioners from law enforcement agencies, including police, border/coast/maritime, immigration services, visa authorities, customs, and the judicial community. This year's edition, implemented in Malta, brought together 28 participants from 18 EU Member States and Switzerland. During the awareness-raising training, participants strengthened their knowledge on the scope of interoperability. They also gained an in-depth understanding of the different interoperability components, their application and limits, and the fundamental rights safeguards.
