Within the frame of CEPOL’s Future Leaders Programme, 25 law enforcement officials from 22 EU Member States continued their learning journey last month at the Austrian Federal Police Academy in Vienna, following a first kick-off training activity last May in Finland.

The aim of this training activity is to enhance the leadership performance and cooperation of leaders at EU level by strengthening the competencies of future law enforcement decision-makers in terms of strategy formulation, implementation, and change management, with particular emphasis on the international and EU dimension of law enforcement in line with fundamental rights and EU values.

During the one week-training, trainees discussed together with the invited keynote speakers about police reforms and future challenges, future leadership and decision making in VUCA times, impact of political developments on police work, the concept of value for money, cooperation on technology with research institutions and the private sector, and EU instruments and legislation work in practice.

Participants will now continue their learning journey with assignment work and the presentation of the outcomes during the last quarter of the year.
