
From 30 May to 2 June, Hungary hosted the CEPOL course 17/2016 "Combatting card fraud". During this course, experts from Italy, Romania and United Kingdom, as well as from organisations such as the European Central Bank and MasterCard Europe shared with course participants their knowledge and experience on bank card fraud.
Among the topics covered at the course were the following:
- skimming and other technical tricks for card fraud;
- card fraud in the darknet;
- the specificities of contactless cards.
Participants also had the chance to test cash machines (ATMs) equipped with different special technical devices used by perpetrators of card fraud.
