CEPOL Course 25/2018 Cybercrime – Conducting forensic searches in various IT devices

The International Training Centre in Budapest hosted the CEPOL Course 25/2018 "Cybercrime – Conducting forensic searches in various IT devices" between 24th and 27th September. The colleagues arrived from 22 Member States and one Candidate Country (FYROM) and there were also 2 participants from EUROPOL.
The main goal of the 4-day long course – besides identifying digital evidence, recognising various IT systems and storage media, and analysing ways of acquiring digital evidence – was to provide a framework for experts in order to be able to directly exchange knowledge on the relevant legal frameworks of the various jurisdictions, and the different instruments and best practices utilized by them during their day-to-day activities.
With assistance from EUROPOL and several foreign jurisdictions from Germany, The Netherlands and Hungary, the Hungarian organizers managed to gather a diverse staff of experts, including cyber investigators working at ECTEG and BKAs who gave presentations on their various fields of expertise.
