Southern Partner Countries validate EUROMED Police training manual for analysis training

On 16 and 17 February, representatives from Jordan, Israel, Morocco, Tunisia, the Palestinian Authority and AFRIPOL joined in Budapest at the International Training Center of the Hungarian Police for the occasion of the 3rd EUROMED Police Networks Capacity Building Workshop.
The delegation included experts in capacity building and analysis, as the aim of the event was the discussion and validation of the content of a training manual outlining the methodology to be applied in the implementation of analysis training.
The manual recommends the application of a three-layers learning path encompassing a kick-off webinar, a face-to-face one-week course and an online module. Each of these products cover different learning objectives: the webinar illustrates the difference between operational and strategic analysis, while the course covers operational analysis and the online module aims to transfer knowledge on strategic analysis.
Participants shared best practices in their national training systems and familiarised themselves with the EU‘s approach to vocational education, including the law enforcement sector. Moreover, the participants got acquainted with CEPOL’s training methodology, with a specific focus on the Agency’s development model for e-learning products.
During the event, the EUROMED Police project team also presented the new train-the-trainers concept currently in development, and discussed with the countries' delegations the importance of cascading knowledge within the law enforcement community.
The Networks Capacity Building Workshops constitute a platform within the EUROMED Police project to nurture dialogue between analysis and capacity building experts and to strengthen cooperation between the two thematic networks, but also to foster capacity building synergies between the European Union and Southern Partner Countries.
As the next step, the EUROMED Police project will develop the strategic analysis online module that will be made available to the Southern Partner Countries of the EU.
