CEPOL is looking for a Legal Officer/Data Protection Officer (AD6) to strengthen its Strategic Planning and Directorate Unit in Budapest.
The Legal Officer/DPO will provide legal advice and assistance to the Executive Director and the agency management, Heads of Units and other services. The Legal Officer is expected to deal with all legal matters related to the operations of the Agency and will act as the Data Protection Officer of CEPOL.
Key accountabilities, among others, include:
- Perform duties of the Head of Sector to legal and governance support and staff missions;
- Task and coordinate the work of other team members, within the limits and instructions set by the Head of Unit, in execution of the work programme;
- Advise CEPOL units on legal aspects concerning their activities;
- Provide legal advice and assistance in the interpretation and implementation of the EU and CEPOL legal framework in relation to operational and administrative matters;
- Contribute to the preparation, development and implementation of internal rules and procedures;
- Draft decisions and a range of other legal documents;
- Act as the agency’s Data Protection Officer;
- Advise on personal data protection rules and regulations;
- Work on data protection matters as well as access to documents requests.
