ISO 29993 highlights CEPOL’s effectiveness and resilience through pandemic

The EU Agency for Law Enforcement Training has successfully maintained its ISO 29993:2017 certification following the surveillance audit conducted last year by DeuZert®, an accredited German certification body for management systems.
This reflects the agency’s commitment to continuously ensure it develops and provides quality education and training services for the EU law enforcement community. Amid the pandemic and despite the challenges to continue the implementation of onsite training, CEPOL sustained its commitment to ensure that all its education and learning services were compliant to the mentioned quality standards. The ISO 29993:2017 certifications is an enabler for CEPOL to further develop quality educational solutions and innovations aimed to address existing and emerging educational needs and concerns of the law enforcement community in Europe.
ISO 29993:2017 is an international standard evaluating and certifying all processes related to learning services outside of formal education, whether it be face-to-face, online, or both. Specifically, the certification received by CEPOL covers the following four CEPOL onsite training courses:
- Open Source Intelligence and IT solutions
- Drug crime and markets – strategic analysis
- Child trafficking
- Document fraud - false identity documents – crime facilitator
Upon the positive assessment, the Executive Director of CEPOL, Dr.h.c. Detlef Schröder, noted:
“This international recognition motivates us to continue to provide law enforcement officials with the latest learning methods and techniques to stay ahead of crime and make Europe safer together”.
The updated certificate following the audit implemented last December 2021 is available here.
