First Review Meeting of CEPOL's International Cooperation Mentoring Programme kicks off with an eye to the future

This week, 32 law enforcement officers from 19 countries participating in the CEPOL International Cooperation Mentoring Programme gathered in Budapest for the first general review meeting. With the Mentoring Programme reaching the end of the first year of its implementation, the aim of the event was to engage the involved mentors and mentees in a fruitful discussion about their main takeaways, challenges, and the path ahead in this innovative programme.
The review meeting took place between 6-7 September and brought together participants from three International Cooperation projects managed by CEPOL (CT INFLOW, EUROMED Police and TOPCOP) to translate the experiences of the mentors and mentees into concrete actions to further develop the programme.
The review meeting also involved the newly selected mentees and mentors who are about to start their partnership. This way, participants in the new cycle of the programme will benefit from the experiences of the previous mentoring pairs and formulate their expectations for the journey ahead.
The involvement of three different international cooperation projects in this meeting facilitated the coordination of the Mentoring Programme across the European Union’s Southern and Eastern Partnership Countries.
What is the CEPOL International Cooperation Mentoring Programme?
CEPOL's International Cooperation Mentoring Programme is a new pilot action, which aims to strengthen the development, knowledge, skills, and expertise of law enforcement officials from the Southern and Eastern Partnership Countries, thus contributing to better work effectiveness and the exchange of best practices. The programme provides the opportunity to establish a working partnership between two law enforcement officials with different degrees of expertise in a specific field with the aim of transferring knowledge and expertise.
