CEPOL's WB PaCT project organises specialised course for law enforcement officials from the Western Balkans on digital skills

WB PaCT course

CEPOL's WB PaCT project is proud to announce an initiative aimed at enhancing the digital capabilities of law enforcement officials in the Western Balkans. A currently ongoing specialised course titled "Digital Skills for Law Enforcement Advancement" aims to equip participants with the essential knowledge and expertise required to address the evolving challenges in the digital age. The course is organised with the great support of the Southeast European Law Enforcement Center (SELEC), who put at the disposal of the participants a modern training centre located in their headquarters in Bucharest, Romania.

In a world where technology continuously transforms the nature of crime and security, law enforcement officials need to adapt and innovate to maintain public safety. Recognizing this need, CEPOL is taking the lead in facilitating a comprehensive training program designed to empower law enforcement officers with the digital skills necessary to combat cybercrime, enhance digital investigations, and safeguard communities from emerging threats.

This is how a course participant from Bosnia and Herzegovina assessed his experience so far:

I have acquired valuable knowledge in the field of electronic evidence, learning where and how to locate it and the proper procedures for legally extracting it for use as evidence. This knowledge will prove particularly beneficial in my future work. Moreover, this course has allowed me to establish connections with individuals from neighbouring countries. I have not only gained knowledge but also made friends, and I am certain that I will turn to them in the future for assistance. Workshops like this hold great significance in training course participants, uniting people, and collectively combating computer-related crimes.

The course brings together law enforcement officials from all Western Balkans countries, fostering international collaboration, information sharing and networking. This collaborative approach is crucial in addressing cross-border threats and ensuring regional security and stability.

The activity takes place in Bucharest, Romania and will run until 27 October.
