CEPOL Financial Investigation project webinars for Western Balkan countries

In June 2019 Western Balkan Financial Investigation In-Service Training Programme 2017-2019 Project presented four webinars regarding financial investigation for law enforcement officers from Western Balkan countries via CEPOL’s LMS system.

Each webinar was complementary to the previously organised national trainings in Albania, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Montenegro and Serbia.

The webinars covered the following topics:

• Financial investigation to disrupt methods used by terrorist to raise funds;
• OSINT - New trends in social media in connection with facilitated illegal immigration and trafficking in human beings;
• Law enforcement and Western Union partnership in high risk cases;
• Crypto currencies – investigation challenges.

Over 100 participants followed the successfully implemented webinars that were important milestones of the Project Work Programme. The fifth and the last webinar to be organised under the mandate of the current project will take place in September on the topic of new methodologies in the framework of international law enforcement cooperation with special focus on tax evasion and smuggling. The webinar will be available in English with Macedonian translation.
