CEPOL confirms its commitment to promote transparency in lobbying

CEPOL was contacted recently by Transparency International EU for the purposes of a campaign across the European Agencies to promote transparency in lobbying. On this occasion, CEPOL reiterated its commitment regarding the following:

• CEPOL will meet only with interest representatives that are registered in the EU Transparency Register;
• CEPOL will publish on an annual basis a list of the meetings held between the Executive Director and interest representatives.

CEPOL Executive Director, Mr Detlef Schröder underlined that ‘CEPOL fully recognises its responsibility towards European citizens in terms of transparency and is willing to continue taking all the necessary steps towards a more accountable EU, which is closer to its citizens’.
