On 13-14 October, the EU Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) hosted at its headquarters in Budapest the 12th CEPOL National Units' (CNU) network meeting.
Chaired by the Head of the Czech CEPOL National Unit (CNU), Ms. Lenka Bartáková, the meeting provided an opportunity for CEPOL to inform participants on the latest developments within the agency. Reference was made to the ongoing work on the Agency’s future strategy –a first draft of which will be formally shared with CEPOL National Units for their comments and consideration.
Connected to this, CEPOL’s Executive Director, highlighted the collective effort undertaken by the staff of the Agency to redefine its roadmap:
“Their insights and reflections underpin what we believe will be a new, deep-rooted framework for effective EU law enforcement training in the years to come”.
In this meeting, participants explored potential improvements to the methodology of the EU Strategic Needs Assessment exercise and enhancements to reinforce its impact. Other topics on the agenda included a snapshot of this years’ accomplishments by the Cybercrime Academy and the CEPOL Exchange Programme. Additionally, CNUs were updated on CEPOL’s operational training needs analysis, as well as on the recent developments by various expert groups –higher education, corporate matters, enhancement of the cooperation between CEPOL and the Member States, and fundamental rights.
